Windy Day

Wow, its really windy outside today. I see the national weather service has a high wind advisory out for our area. It's dark and raining. I like the pitter patter sound of the rain when it hits the roof. It makes for relaxing sleeping weather.

Did You Have A Good Holiday? YES!1!11!

How was your Christmas? We had a nice time with the family a couple days before Christmas. We all got together early because of the kids schedules and whatnot. Then on Christmas Day DH and I went to the Chinese resturant and then to a movie.

The Yes Man was one of Jim Carrey's best movies. It was well written and perfect for his acting style. Jim has a tendancy to be a little over the top. That is to be expected. This movie keeps it in check a little more and you actually get to see Jim grow as an actor. The movie has a message that inspires you to try new things now and then. Don't get stuck in the same old boring life.

So do I think you should go see it? Yes!

Feeling Better

I was feeling well enough that I made it in to work today. The morning was kinda rough but once I got going my condition improved all day.

Michael Zenke over at Massively had an article the other day about City of Heroes and badge hunting. He describes about the different kind of badges in the game, and why they matter to the player.

"It's one of the best parts of City of Heroes, and is definitely a compelling reason to play."

Although I am not as crazy about getting badges as some of the players I know... *cough DH* ... I think it adds a lot to the game. I ran around a couple hours tonight getting the special holiday badges on a couple of my girls.

Sick Today

I hate being sick. I had the nausea and barfy feeling ever since I woke up this morning. I was able to make it in to work and stayed for half of my shift before I asked to go home. That really really sucks because I need the money this time of year. Oh my *new car payment* blah! At least I was over hours for the week and would have had to leave early to cut hours anyhow. I might see if they will let me put in some personal time to use to make up the difference. Come on, I mean, Nothing is more personal than spending time crouched in front of the the toilet waiting to barf.

"You have been infected with the Vahzilok Wasting Disease. This disease, introduced by the Vahzilok, is slowly wasting you away. Find a cure, quick! Your Max Hit Points, Endurance, Regeneration, and Recovery have all been reduced."

Well kind of like that...with no flies buzzing around me.

Holiday Event on City of Heroes

I've been playing around with this year's winter event. I like when games give us holiday goodies. Sure, they recycle stuff from previous years, but its fun! I especially like the ski chalet in Pocket D.

They have bunny and expert slopes that make the big room inside the Frostfire mission look like a walk in the park. I haven't earned any medals yet, but I bet I could if I can stay on the course.

I read tomorrow they are giving us all a free respec and costume change token. That's pretty sweet, just in time for Techigal's level 20 makeover.

See you on the slopes!

The Mazda 3

So my old car had finally given me it's last ride and it was time to get something new. This car had no air conditioning and an oil leak that was so massive oil drips covered the garage floor. You could smell the oil burning when you got out of the car. I fealt like a bad parent every time I took the kids somewhere in it.

I had been looking around somewhat knowing my car was on its last leg. Most good cars were wayyy more than I wanted to pay. The cars in the price range I wanted all had some kind of problem or high milage...not much better than my old car.

I ended up finding something that I could afford and enjoy....a Mazda 3!   The payment is something I can squeeze into the budget. I really really really like the car. The engine and steering is very responsive and it has good gas milage. With the long commutes we have planned in the near future, this car gives me peace of mind knowing I won't end up stranded somewhere.

Techiegal - Shield Scrapper

With City of Heroes new Issue 13, they have added this new "Shields" (like Captain America-ish) power set. I decided to make a new character on the Freedom server with shields and broadsword powers and I named her Techiegal! I've almost got her up to level 20. It has been great fun for me to go in and slice up enemies with my energy broadsword and keep them at bay with my techie shield.

The drawback with playing a brand new powerset is that there are a lot of other people trying out the new powers too. This leads to less variety in teams, and it is harder for me to get on a team.

Issue 13 also introduces a new Pain Domination powerset on City of Villains that I have yet to try. Pain Domination is supposed to be the villains equivalent of Empathy heals. I like to play healer classes, so I will have to check it out soon.

See you in game.

Back From the dead!

So I got bored with games for a while, and got tired of updating my blog and let it all go to hell. I got busy with work and other things and let my lovely little website fade into the abyss. I didn't renew Techiegal.com when it came due. After it expired someone else picked up the domain for a year. I was upset at myself that I had lost the domain. They didn't do anything with it at all except try to sell the domain. Apparently there were no buyers.

The other day I got done playing City of Heroes and decided to check Go Daddy to see if the domain had expired for them. Sure enough it did, and I got it back.

So I'm going to start my random gaming adventure/tech/movie/shopping/whatever blog back up again and see how it goes. Yayyyyy!
